Semi-Annual Book Migration

It's time for books and DVDs that have been out for over a month to migrate back to the SDZG Library.   We'll be sending email notices soon, asking you to return or renew. Please keep in mind the emails are system automated with the subject LibraryWorld Transaction Statement, and not in our usual friendly tone!

We're happy to renew if you need more time; simply follow the instructions in the email.  And we're thankful year-round for your help with properly maintaining our Society Library collection and associated records.

Outreach Events

Outreach Events...there they are, listed just to the left and perhaps you've seen other announcements.  But what are Outreach Events?  A few times a month, we roll a mobile library out to a convenient location near you.  It's a great chance for staff and volunteers to visit a small version of the SDZG Library in the Safari Park or Zoo.  Borrow and return books and DVDs, ask questions, and learn more about all our great information resources.

You are always welcome to visit us on online, email, call, receive and return items through interoffice mail.  But we often find in-person Outreach Events to be a great learning experience for all involved.

The Atlas of Water : Mapping the World's Most Critical Resource

By Maggie Black (2016)

Climate change, population increase, and the demands made by the growing number of people adopting urban lifestyles and western diets threaten the world’s supply of freshwater, edging us closer to a global water crisis, with dire implications for agriculture, the economy, the environment, and human health. Completely revised and updated, The Atlas of Water is a visual guide to the state of this life-sustaining resource. This atlas addresses all the pressing issues concerning water [and] outlines critical tools for managing water, providing safe access to water, and preserving the future of the world’s water supply. —Publisher.
