Principal’s Message

The transition into the second semester has included a tremendous amount of teamwork and cooperation with students, parents and staff. The efforts have not gone unnoticed.  Special thanks to those who have assisted in this adventure as their positive energy and willingness to help is contagious.  The spirit of 'We Love St. Lucia' has been suggested during this month not because of the excitement of Valentine's Day but, rather that it might serve as a fundamental image of ISSL. Soon our 2016 - 17 Student Handbook will be shared on the school website. The updated handbook is a result of feedback from a team of students, parents, staff and board members; a writing community.
The second half of the school year program is beginning to pick up speed and energy. Class work, homework, after school tutoring and activities are underway.  Parents and community volunteers are encouraged to contact us if there are skills or activities that they may want to share with our students.
Thank you for making my first month at ISSL and in St. Lucia rewarding and very exciting.
Yours truly,
Mr. Dale Finch

Rodney Bay Clean-up
On January 21st 2017, several ISSL students, including members of the Environmental Science class, participated in a street clean up organized by the Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. Over the course of two hours, the group picked up over 1800 pieces of trash between ISSL and the entrance to Rodney Bay. Thank you Tenya, Kristal and Akari and WELL DONE!
Congratulations to Chloe Thomas of our Grade 10 class. On February 5th at an award ceremony held at Bay Gardens Hotel held by the Lightning Aquatics Swim Club, Chloe won numerous awards including Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Participation in Swim meets, Certificate for Punctuality, Certificate for Exemplary Discipline and Trophy for Most Improved 2016. Congratulations Chloe, keep it up!
Elementary Move
We send out a huge THANK YOU to Mr. Norman Johnson and his team, who worked tirelessly to move our Elementary Class over to our main ISSL building. ISSL is forever grateful for all of the assistance you have provided throughout the years. Thanks again for your much appreciated hard work today, from our team to yours!
Thank you to the following parents who have helped in sourcing 2 keyboards as well as a cash donation towards the purchase of 2 additional keyboards. Mrs. Raquel Chastanet, Mrs. Ann Roberts and Mrs. Felicia Smith, thank you on behalf of the students, staff and Board of Directors. We need a donation of one or more keyboard to assist our Music class. More keyboard means, hands-on musical enrichment for our students.

Thanks to all the parents, students and staff who continue to make ISSL a wonderful learning environment.
