Chintimini News and Happenings

CLINIC NEWS

We've Set Another Record!
For the tenth year in a row, patient admissions to Chintimini have reached an all time high! On October 24 we passed the 1,500 animal mark, shattering the record set last year. There's still two more months to go this year, too, which only means more record breaking admissions!

This steady increase in our patient load means we need your support now more than ever! We are starting our annual End of Year Membership Drive and would love to have you join us in our mission of providing care for Oregon’s injured and orphaned wildlife, and educating the public about the wonders of nature. Please visit our web site for information about how you can help!

PATIENT NEWS

This juvenile Bobcat patient has been thriving after two months in our care. He was admitted to Chintimini severely emaciated, dehydrated, and weak. He has been putting on healthy body weight and muscle tone and will remain at Chintimini for the winter, gearing him up for a spring release!

                                                                              Peregrine Falcon

                                                                                             Osprey
The stormy weather this month brought in several coastal birds in need of our assistance at Chintimini. This Peregrine Falcon and Osprey were both admitted earlier in the month and were found soaking wet and underweight in the Newport area. They are both doing extremely well and are conditioning for release this week back in the wild!
Last Friday's beautiful weather made for a perfect release for this remarkable Common Loon!
Thanks again for your continued interest in and support of Chintimini Wildlife Center!

Sincerely,
Jeff Picton
