PATIENT NEWS
Bobcat Updates

First of all, thanks to all those in the community who donated to help in the bobcat's recovery after surgery for a broken femur. We have good news! After 6 weeks, she can put weight on her leg and has been scheduled for a follow-up at the OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Our partners there have been so generous with her care and we are very grateful. However, Chintimini will be responsible for covering her follow-up examination and pre-release costs. These include food, medication and housing, which are more expensive for larger predators like this bobcat.

We hope to raise $250 for the cost of the visit via our Bobcat Recovery Fund. If you could kindly make a donation via PayPal or send a check to Chintimini Wildlife Center (please put "bobcat" in the memo) it would greatly help us continue to care for this spectacular feline and get her back into the wild. Thanks in advance for all your support and we will continue to keep you updated on
her recovery.

COMMUNITY SAFETY

Owl Spotted in Corvallis, Danger of Rodenticide Poisoning

A Great Horned Owl has been seen and heard in the Jana neighborhood of Corvallis. This is an important reminder that we must keep our urban owls and other natural predators safe from deadly rodenticide poisoning. Rodenticides kill not only rodents but other beneficial predators as well. These predators naturally help keep rodent populations under control and without them we would have a HUGE rodent problem. Check out our recent blog post that details what you can do to avoid using toxic chemicals in order to keep local wildlife, as well as our environment, children and pets, safe.
