Campers Explore the Bay Area!
We are only two weeks into Summer Camp, and our campers have already learned and explored so much! From feeding cows and goats at the Little Farm in Tilden Park, to dissecting squid and learning about their adaptations, to pulling invasive English Ivy at UC Berkeley's Strawberry Creek, our campers have become Inspired Environmentalists! One of our campers, Ando, shared, "To help the Earth, we can pick up litter and plant new plants!"
A favorite camper activity was Belly Biology; campers investigated what is growing on the docks at Berkeley Marina! Felix shared, "My favorite part of the day was Belly Biology! It was fun to lay down and investigate - I had no idea all of those creatures lived down there!"
Campers also loved hiking, building nature art, and touching the Pacific Ocean at Muir Beach. Sophia shared, "When I'm outside, feeling the breeze and the sun, it's like I'm in heaven!" Olivia added, "The hike was really pretty, and we saw two lizards!"
We can't wait for more exciting adventures to come! Later this summer, campers will go on overnight camping trips, search for secret lagoons, and visit Bay Area classics like the Exploratorium and the Aquarium of the Bay!
