New genomes sequenced at the CGR.

The genome of Austrolebias charrua has been sequenced at the CGR. Two rounds of Illumina and one of PacBio sequencing were required to obtain an assembly of this extremely large genome: 3.0Gb. The species inhabits temporary ponds in Eastern South America.

High school students visit the CGR

A group of 30 students and their teacher (Mrs. Isabel Bravo) from the Colegio Francisco Javier de Huechuraba, carried out a visit to the CGR facilities at the University of Chile. They were able to observe our work with zebrafish, examine embryos and see first hand how some of our experiments are done. (More photos)
