The CGR holds course for teachers:

Teachers during the lab course
The CGR, together with the Fundación Allende Connelly and funding from RELAB, organized a week long course aimed at preparing secondary school teachers for the visit of a Portable Lab in the area of developmental biology. This course joins two others in the "Portable Labs" initiative. 16 teachers were trained in both theoretical and lab sessions and the labs will visit the schools starting 2016. The CGR has its first Interactomics of the year:

Dr Valérie de Crécy-Lagard
Dr. Valérie de Crécy-Lagard, Full Professor a the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science University of Florida gave the first talk of 2016 for the Interactomics, the CGR's lecture series. She was the guest of Dr. Alvaro Glavic, with whom she has a FONDECYT collaboration. Her talk (given Jan 18th) was entitled: "Linking gene and function by comparative genomics: lessons from 20 years of data mining". 

Upcoming international course:

The CGR is organizing an international training course entitled: "Synthetic biology and genome editing" from May 14 to 20, 2016. Invited instructors will teach the latest methods for editing DNA with CRISPR technology and designing artificial transcription factors. Model organisms will include bacteria, plants, Drosophila and zebrafish. Visit the course page here.
