June Update from Moore Development

I hope all is well and that you’ve enjoyed the May bank holiday. It’s been a particularly exciting few months, from the amazing West Indies T20 World Cup Cricket victories to Boxing champion Nicola Adams adding the world flyweight title to her Olympic, Commonwealth and European crowns.

Update
It's been a roller coaster of great projects over the least few months. Some of the highlights include hosting a two-day meeting for Unicef UK, the Commonwealth Games Federation and the institute for Human Rights which has given me valuable insights into applying human rights to the planning of major sport events. The annual University of Texas workshop I’m a part of was another great learning opportunity with a focus on transgender and intersex rights in sport; check out the summary document. For more updates visit my website blog or click on some of the links at the end of this message.

Inspiration Shared….
What Is In Your Life’s Blueprint? This is an excerpt in an inspiring short film from a Dr Martin Luther King speech, featuring Gabrielle Douglas, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist. The film leaves makes a big impact especially when used with groups of staff teams and young people.

Exciting opportunities and future events for you to attend…

The Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards took place in London on the 12 May 2016
This was an amazing night of inspiration and celebration, showcasing the incredible talent from across women’s sport.  One of the highlights of the evening was the keynote speech from John Ameachi OBE.  Here is a little snippet from him about why we all need to step up and support women's sport #ManOnside. The awards programme included an article on inclusion in women’s sport written by a passionate sports activist….

And finally a positive story……2016 Olympic Refugee Olympic Athletes’ team
Worldwide, 60 million people have been forced to flee their homes by war, conflict and persecution. Sport has a unique power to transcend barriers. It is therefore welcome news that a team of refugee athletes, six men and four women (ROA) will compete at this summer's Olympics in Rio. The ROA team will send a message of hope to all the refugees of the world.

Thanks to those of you who have reached out recently and I look forward to hearing your news.  Hope to see some of you soon.

All the best,
Michelle
