The CEQ Institute at Tulane University awarded grant from the Gates Foundation

The CEQ Institute at Tulane University was awarded a $4.9 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to study ways to reduce inequality and poverty through taxes and social spending in developing countries.

CEQ and OAS to partner

On January 29, 2016 CEQ signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Organization of American States to deepen the relationship between the two institutions and look for ways to cooperate on joint projects, programs and activities in the area of social inclusion, equity and social protection.

Workshop on the Commitment to Equity Methodology at  the World Bank
In early February 2016, the CEQ team, Ali Enami, Technical Coordinator Sandra Martinez, Nora Lustig, Sean Higgins and Associate Director Jon Jellema (pictured from left to right)  organized a three day learning event at the World Bank. The objective of the workshop was to present the Commitment to Equity methodology, along with early evidence from recent studies.

“Diálogos de compromiso con la equidad"

The Policy Area of the CEQ Institute organized its first "Commitment to Equity Dialogue" with the Red de Accion Politica (RAP) at the Universidad di Tella in Buenos Aires. The Dialogue focused on the challenges faced by Argentina's new government to promote social equity in the face of slower growth and reduced fiscal space.
