FALL IN LOVE WITH FRIT

MAKERS MEET F3 MEDIUM

We continue our “Fall in Love with Frit “ series with size F3 Medium (.75mm to 2.5mm )

F3 Colors the Worlds of Glassblowers & Lampworkers
Our glass frit is widely used among glassblowers to add color to their creations. F3 Medium sized frit is a great grade to work with to embed rich color in a clear gather. The key is to make sure each additional overlay of glass is hot and soft enough for the frit to stick. Use a light coating to create subtle highlights of color or keep adding layers of color to create a darker tone and more uniform look. Frit may be fully melted into the gather or left partially raised to create wonderful surface texture. Experiment with different colors to create your own custom effects! See our colorful array of selections here: System 96 or FX90

Custom Color Blending for Fusers
Much like F2 Fine, F3 Medium is a great size to blend colors. These larger and thicker coarse particles can fill up more space and result in a slightly more pointillistic effect. They also provide more intense, richer color. For more tips on blending with F3, check out this great fusing project!

*Note that Khaki Opal is a retired color. We suggest using F3-2116-96 Chocolate Opal as an alternative that will work well with this design.

GREAT AMERICAN

LANDSCAPE COMPETITION

To celebrate the beautiful land we love, this summer we held a friendly landscape contest. Thank you to all of you who participated. The submissions of artwork were truly remarkable. True to the American spirit, this was a fierce competition making it hard to choose just one winner. We are excited to announce that artist John Sollinger will take home the grand prize for his stunning mosaic piece “Snowfell.” Congratulations Solly! Click here to see his winning submission, and a gallery of all the amazing honorable mentions.

PRODUCTION UPDATE

We’re happy to report that glass orders are overflowing! To keep up with the demand, we’ve extended our glass sheet production until at least late December. We’re still on target to continue frit production through the first quarter of next year. Thank you again for your business and patience with us as we work hard to fill orders in these final months. On the bright side, we are in negotiations with potential new operators to take over production of our brand. So stay tuned for future updates!
