On To It: Sustainability News

Hi there! It’s time to get prepared for winter. This month the Curtain Bank is coming to Ōtaki, offering free curtains to community service card holders. We also have great garden tips for planting before ground temperatures cool and more free workshops on composting, worm farming and planting. For those with little ones a Waste Free Parenting evening is coming up, a fantastic cloth nappy pack is included with your ticket.
We are excited to announce No8 Wire Week,  a new community event happening in July.  Marking the end of Matariki this will be a family friendly week of practical educational workshops, excursions, speakers and more. We are interesting in hearing from individuals, community groups and organisations who would like to be involved or have ideas to offer.
We are also getting ready to launch the Greener Neighbourhoods Competition; a $2000 prize is up for grabs for the group who makes the most progress to reduce their environmental impact.  If you are interested becoming a Greener Neighbourhood, please get in contact!  We have room for two more groups.
