New Members, New Events and New Progress
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings!

The Press Club of Dallas has a rich history dating back more than 65 years. As you can imagine, that history includes an awful lot of documents, including event programs, photos and meeting materials.

We’re so excited that we are now able to preserve and share thousands of these documents through digital archives maintained by the Dallas Historical Society, based at the Hall of State at Fair Park. More than 7,500 items have been scanned and will soon be searchable online via the Dallas Historical Society website.

Dallas Historical Society Archivist Wendy Cole recently told me, “having the records for the Press Club of Dallas not only gives researchers an overall, in-depth view of the actions and interests of the Press Club and its members, but also gives a fun and different view of events that occurred in Dallas. It enhances our overall collection with its unique approach to topics, giving us a more diverse view of the past."

For those interested in accessing the archives in person, you can visit the G.B. Dealey Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-12 and 1:30-3:30. Our archives can be accessed in person during those times or by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The project was made possible through a donation of a portion of the proceeds raised at the 2014 Newsmaker of the Year event honoring Michael Jenkins.

Scott Goldstein
President, 2016-17
In the beginning of October, our Board joined The Dallas Entrepreneur Center for a unique partnership. Serving as the new venue for our BOD Meetings, the DEC also provides countless opportunities to collaborate and host events with their mentors, members, and thought leaders. In addition, we have been named a sponsor of the monthly program Startup Grind, a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect local entrepreneurs.
ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY

Liz Oliphant, David & Carolyn Dunnigan, Camille Keith, Tom & Janie Loveless

On December 15th, a fun holiday mixer was enjoyed by more than 60 members of the Press Club of Dallas and their guests at the Omni Hotel’s Black Ship Little Katana. Longtime members enjoyed catching up with old friends while newer members formed new friendships.

Thanks to Deborah Dillard of the popular Asian-Fusion restaurant for the tasty hors d’oeuvres and wine bar. Press Club members donated a box filled with children’s books to Dallas Cowboy Brandon Carr’s foundation to promote literacy.
